The issue
What is the price of a child’s education today? For some, it is tens of thousands of dollars. For others just the cost of a uniform.
Mary Ambani, the director of Benum Education in Kenya contacted us through our website in 2021. The centre runs in the slums of Nairobi to provide orphaned children with an education.
For a child to attend a school, in Kenya, it is obligatory that they wear a regulation uniform. These children have little beyond the work of not for profilts like Benum, trying to ensure they receive basic support and something to eat.
Running to the purchase of a uniform is beyond their limited resources.
Mary’s assistant, Susan has provide us with photographs and a story about these nine young people, who but for a uniform could receive an education.
Small Act. Big Impact
Adopt one of these children and provide them with the uniform to completely change their lives for the better and that of their families and communities.
The children’s stories
Benum Education has told the stories of the children and given us their names and ages for publications. Many of the children are seeking sponsors for their education and this is an option. But first we need to start with a uniform.
If you want to be a sponsor
If you would like to choose a child to sponsor please write to us at small.acts@createcareglobal.org and we will put you directly in touch with the right person at Benum Education to organise that.
